A plea from Burma Advocacy Group Executive Director, Rev. Dr. A. Roy Medley
Dear Friends of Burma,
Our hearts are tender with grief as we learn of the growing number of casualties and the range of
the destruction by the recent earthquake. It is painful to recall visiting churches in Mandalay
and sharing meals with pastors and members as I hear from friends and colleagues of the losses
their families are enduring. Likewise, the news from the Sagaing region which is the hardest hit
and with the least assistance is heart-rending. We pray for Christ’s mercy and sustaining grace
for all.
On many occasions I have assured the people of Burma, “You are not alone.” I repeat that
message again today: You are not alone; we stand in solidarity with you even in grief.
The diaspora community in America and its many friends are united in prayer and action for you.
BAG is rallying financial support and requesting our government to be generous and swift in its
response.
Here, you will find an invitation to give and to join in our advocacy campaign with the US
Government.
We also invite you to join us in a Service of Prayer with us and representatives of the National
Unity Government on Friday, April 4 th , at 9:30 AM ET.

We would faint were not our strength found in the Lord who is
“my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge,
my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (PS 18:2)
In solidarity with those who suffer,
